DOROT is a New York‑based nonprofit that has been connecting older adults for 45 years, offering in‑home visits, care packages, phone chats, and digital activities to reduce social isolation. With a volunteer base of over 6,000 and a professional staff of nearly 100, the organization delivers a broad portfolio of programs—including tech coaching, online chess, and intergenerational discussions—to more than 6,200 seniors across Manhattan and Westchester. During the COVID‑19 pandemic, DOROT’s virtual programming became a critical source of connection for seniors nationwide. The organization’s blend of long‑standing community ties, volunteer engagement, and innovative digital services sets it apart as a leader in senior social care.
