Friends of the High Line is a nonprofit conservancy that operates and maintains New York City’s iconic elevated park, the High Line. The organization funds nearly 100% of the park’s annual budget through fundraising and partners with local communities to transform the historic rail corridor into a vibrant public space that blends gardens, art, performance, and dining. By reimagining the role of public spaces in fostering connected, healthy neighborhoods, Friends of the High Line offers a model for sustainable urban revitalization. Their unique blend of historic preservation, community engagement, and creative programming sets them apart in the public‑space and nonprofit sectors.
