Global Communities is seeking a Social Specialist for an anticipated project. This program will last approximately between 1.5 and 2 years and will support groups of producers who practice subsistence agriculture to achieve increases in production, productivity, inserting them into the formal market, through the promotion and encouragement of productive alliances, the adoption of practices and approaches aimed at preventing or mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
Requirements
- A university degree in social work/social management, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, economics, or another degree relevant to the functions of the position, with a master's degree in any discipline in the social, economic, or development area.
- At least five (5) years of work experience promoting, supporting or advising processes of participation and social inclusion, preferably with indigenous peoples and afro-descendants of Honduras or other regions of the Americas.
- Knowledge of the indigenous and/or Afro-descendant context and verifiable work experience in the project region.
- Verifiable work experience in promoting the inclusion of specific groups such as youth, women, indigenous, and Afro-descendant peoples, the disabled, and the elderly in agricultural or rural development programming.
- Verifiable experience in social risk assessment and management for programs or projects in rural areas.
- Verifiable experience in facilitating, supporting, or executing organizational strengthening processes in communities, family/producer groups, and/or organizations in rural Honduras.
- Proven experience in facilitating training processes on social issues for different actors in rural areas, with the ability to adopt processes and methodologies in culturally differentiated groups.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership and ability to coordinate with technical teams from different disciplines.
- 100% proficiency in Spanish (spoken, reading and writing).
