This LEAD Faculty Fellowship supports the University's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion goals. Fellows will gain teaching experience, professional development, and mentorship opportunities to increase faculty representation at Harper College. The fellowship offers a reduced teaching load initially and the possibility of full-time faculty tenure, contingent on current vacancies. It focuses on broadening faculty representation and ensuring student and staff benefit from a learning environment that reflects the community.
Requirements
- Teach assigned credit hours each academic year
- Design inclusive course content and syllabi
- Engage with mentors on a regular basis
- Attend internal and external professional development programs
- Set professional goals and priorities annually
- Build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff
- Observe/shadow senior faculty members
- Utilize institutional resources to strengthen capacity
- Participate in selected shared governance committee meetings
- Attend faculty senate and division/department meetings
- Develop and maintain a digital professional portfolio
- Participate in an employee resource group
