Cardiac Sonographer

Park Nicollet is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join their cardiology non-invasive laboratory. The role involves performing echocardiographic procedures on adult patients, including M-Mode, Two-Dimensional, and contrast echocardiography. Support and participation in departmental goals are required, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Graduation from an allied health diagnostic program or training
• Registration as a Registered Dietician-Certified, Registered Cardiovascular Educator, or RCS
• BLS Certification
• Knowledge of electrocardiography and arrhythmias
• Knowledge of sterile technique
• Knowledge of mathematical principles
• Knowledge of defibrillator and crash cart use
• Ability to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Ability to work with critically ill/injured patients
• Ability to recognize and deal with medical emergencies
• Ability to perform basic clerical activities
• Knowledge of echocardiographic techniques
• Computerized echocardiographic equipment operation
• Ability to perform stress echocardiograms and dobutamine echocardiograms
• Ability to perform transtesonophageal echocardiograms
• Ability to perform quality evaluation of cardiac valves
• Knowledge of various echocardiogram techniques
• Ability to perform deductive and segmental approaches
• Ability to perform qualitative evaluations of cardiac valves
• Ability to identify and measure essential information
• Ability to identify prosthetic valves and assess function
• Ability to perform high-quality stress echocardiograms
• Ability to perform transesophageal echocardiograms
• Ability to recognize and alert physicians to acute processes
• Ability to stay current with advancements in cardiac sonography
• Continuing education requirements
