Founded in 1958, Monarch is a leading nonprofit in North Carolina dedicated to providing person-centered care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders. The organization serves nearly 30,000 people each year through a comprehensive suite of services—including behavioral health, advocacy, supported living, direct support professionals, and traumatic brain injury care—while engaging in approximately 600,000 patient encounters annually. Monarch’s commitment to quality is underscored by its Joint Commission accreditation and its operation of The Arc of Stanly County, a chapter of The Arc of North Carolina and the national network. These factors combine to position Monarch as a distinctive, trusted partner for families and communities seeking innovative, holistic support.
