Job Description
The Assistant General Counsel - Privacy & Regulatory will work with the legal and compliance teams to ensure the organization’s global privacy, regulatory, and legal compliance programs adhere to applicable laws and regulations. This role involves advising on data privacy issues, ensuring compliance with CLIA/NYS regulations, and providing legal advice on technology and collaboration with Security, GRC, and government affairs. This individual will be responsible for managing privacy operations and legal advice in areas such as data sharing, analytics, and regulatory oversight.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of law firm or in-house legal practice
- 3-5 years in privacy, regulatory compliance, and risk management
- Deep understanding of HIPAA/HITECH, the Common Rule, GDPR, 21st Century Cures Information Blocking Rules, state comprehensive privacy laws and emerging US state and global privacy laws.
- Strong business sense and practical legal advice experience
- Thorough organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
