Requirements
- Greet and welcome patients
- Verify patients' medical histories
- Preparing patients before drawing blood
- Explaining blood draw procedures to patients
- Following health and safety protocols
- Identifying best needle sized and location for each blood draw
- Ensuring correct use of collection tubes and containers
- Proficient in blood sampling techniques
- Gathering medical testing materials
- Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples
- Accurately updating patient information
- Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm
- Working with supervising Physicians
- Analyzing blood specimens
- Cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Restocking the lab and ordering supplies
