Principal Cloud Engineer – AWS Infrastructure & Solutions (m/f/*)

As a Principal AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, build, and optimize secure, scalable, and compliant AWS cloud solutions. You will work closely with engineering, security, and product teams to deliver mission-critical platforms.

Requirements

• Design, implement, and optimize AWS infrastructure to meet high availability, performance, and security requirements.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
• Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, OpenSearch, Prometheus/Grafana).
• Ensure robust disaster recovery, backup, and failover capabilities.
• Implement performance tuning and cost optimization measures across AWS workloads.
• Design solutions that comply with HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and other relevant frameworks.
• Apply security-by-design principles using AWS Identity & Access Management (IAM), VPC security, KMS encryption, and private networking.
• Partner with compliance teams to support audits and certifications.
• Serve as the go-to AWS technical expert for complex engineering initiatives.
• Mentor engineers in cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Influence enterprise AWS strategy and standards without direct people management responsibilities.
