Job Description
Telecom Mechanic I at Fort McCoy, WI is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the telecommunications infrastructure connecting buildings and military installations. This role focuses on the OSP network, fiber optic cables, copper cables, and ensuring the network's proper functioning. It involves troubleshooting, cable splicing, site surveys, and inventory management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of experience in outside plant telecommunications infrastructure installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of outside plant telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, copper cables, and coaxial cables.
- Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines.
- Ability to read blueprints, maps, and schematics.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills.
