Prepare therapeutic and routine Resident meals as approved by a Dietician. Follows standardized recipes to achieve appetizing and nutritious food in large quantities.

Requirements

• Ability to assure Resident safety at all times
• Ability to address each Resident by their preferred name
• Ability to learn and abide by Residents' Rights, rules and regulations
• Ability to work well with other staff and avoid petty conflicts
• Ability to prepare each meal according to established serving times
• Ability to maintain equipment in a clean and well-functioning manner
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all activities, persons, and records
• Ability to supervise other dietary employees
• Ability to prepare attractive, tasty foods and nutritious meals and snacks
• Ability to provide correctly labeled snacks between meals as needed
• Ability to ensure safe preparation of foods served
• Ability to adhere to established dietary policies and procedures
• Ability to ensure compliance with Residents Rights
• Ability to prepare special diets as ordered by physician
• Ability to alter food texture for edentulous Residents or Residents who have difficulty with chewing and/or swallowing
• Ability to season food in compliance with established regimens
• Ability to prepare adequate amounts of eternal feedings to last through the night
• Ability to exercise prudent independent judgment and follow through with preparation of meals without supervision
• Ability to make independent decisions regarding substitution of items in recipes
• Ability to take initiative in utilizing leftover food
• Ability to accurately estimate quantities of food required for each meal
• Ability to be familiar with optimal methods of preparing meats according to cuts
• Ability to store raw and cooked food in proper containers and in correct locations
• Ability to maintain efficient workflow by following standardized work methods
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility in adapting to unexpected changes in routine
• Ability to closely follow timetable for schedule duties
• Ability to store equipment in proper place ready for next use
• Ability to report malfunctioning equipment or lack of supplies to supervisor immediately
