Powertrain Systems Engineer

Alaka’i Technologies is seeking a Powertrain Systems Engineer to develop and test aircraft power systems, encompassing fuel storage, electric power generation and distribution, and the electric drivetrain. This role involves full powertrain design, prototype testing, and leveraging a small team and many hats in a fast-paced startup environment. The company focuses on hydrogen air mobility solutions.

Requirements

• Experience with systems engineering lifecycles
• Strong foundation of core engineering principles (Electrical/ thermal dynamic systems)
• Experience developing, analyzing, and/or modeling electric powertrain systems (e.g. lithium-ion batteries, hydrogen fuel cells, electric motors, inverters, thermal systems).
• Knowledge of optimization tools and MBSE frameworks
