Job Description
The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Assistant to support Crown Prosecutors and improve case processing within the Ministry of Justice. This full-time, permanent position involves managing a large volume of case files, attending court hearings, and providing crucial courtroom support. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Prepare and organize case files.
- Attend docket court and provide courtroom support.
- Respond to legal inquiries and research information.
- Maintain professional interaction with prosecutors, defense counsel, and the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook), Prosecutor Information System Manager (PRISM), and Justice On-Line Information Network (JOIN).
- Knowledge of the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and Criminal Code of Canada.
- Resilience to handle sensitive and confidential information.
