Principal Reliability Engineer

Alcon is seeking a Principal Reliability Engineer to join their Engineering function in Lake Forest, CA. The ideal candidate will have >7 years of hands-on design and/or DfR experience on highly varied products, with a focus on opto-electro-mechanical systems. The role will involve implementing/enhancing state-of-the-art quality and reliability systems/programs, reviewing/critiquing product designs, and providing expert guidance on requirements development and test planning.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on design and/or DfR experience on highly varied products
• Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts in formal/informal presentations
• Ability to prepare accurate highly detailed and readable technical reports
• Substantial (> 7 yrs.) hands-on experience in product development and design
• Practical knowledge in common failure mechanisms found on Opto-Electro-Mechanical systems
• Familiarity with embedded systems, communication protocols, and test programming
• Ability to critique designs for reliability, serviceability, availability, and manufacturability concerns
