Director of Federal Construction

Ameresco is seeking a Director of Federal Construction to oversee the successful delivery of complex Federal design-build projects. The role requires a leader with experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial power construction project management, with a focus on complex utilities, renewable energy, commercial, and Federal projects.

Requirements

• Lead and manage Federal construction projects
• Provide hands-on oversight to ensure quality, timely delivery, and budget adherence
• Support pricing proposals through subcontractor engagement, constructability reviews, and preparation of high-quality bid packages
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost tracking
• Coordinate construction activities with engineering and senior management teams
• Review key submittals for technical accuracy and quality assurance
• Provide regular project status updates, documentation, and reporting to internal stakeholders
• Identify and resolve challenges related to budget, schedule, and technical requirements
• Ensure compliance with company, industry, and jurisdictional safety standards and codes
• Recruit, hire, train, and develop a high-performing construction team
• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
