Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide medically necessary psychiatric services and treatments to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients in an acute care or outpatient setting.

Requirements

• Provides psychiatric evaluation, care and treatment to patients
• Performs psychiatric evaluations and case management
• Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests
• Responsible to ensure documentation is complete and timely
• Communicates with interdisciplinary team and Director of Nursing
• Monitors quality indicators and identifies areas of opportunity
• Advocates for the patient and communicates with family members
• Maintains prescriptive authority
• Participates in psychotropic medical management and behavior management process
