Job Description
The Building Engineer oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and functionality of two commercial properties located in Laguna Hills and Orange, CA. This role ensures all building systems are operating efficiently and safely, supervises service vendors, maintains preventive maintenance programs, and serves as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters — including emergency response.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial building or facilities maintenance
- Pneumatic Thermostat Systems knowledge & experience
- Building Automations Systems knowledge & experience (Johnson Controls Metasys system a plus)
- Hold a current and valid CA driver's license and reliable transportation; mileage reimbursement eligible
- Be able to provide a clean DMV report covering the past (3) years
- Experienced using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Experienced in the proper handling of various chemicals (HAZMAT)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Experienced in maintaining comprehensive maintenance logs and vendor service records.
- Physically able to perform maintenance duties (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, accessing roofs).
