Staff Software Engineer, Data Management

Amplitude is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Data Management to lead the technical vision for data management and governance. The role involves designing scalable systems, leading cross-team initiatives, and partnering with product, design, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Staff-level impact in backend engineering
• Strong backend proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js and/or Python, plus production experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code
• Operational ownership, including defining/measuring SLOs, building robust CI/CD pipelines, and applying observability
• Customer focus, with ability to translate customer and account team signals into technical strategy
• Excellent communication and alignment skills, with ability to facilitate decisions across multiple stakeholders
