Chief Engineer, Flight Instrumentation

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Chief Engineer, Flight Instrumentation to lead a team of instrumentation engineers and oversee the development and implementation of a robust instrumentation, telemetry, and data management system for Group 5 Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). This role requires collaboration with various engineering disciplines and focuses on innovation in autonomous systems within the defense sector. The engineer will drive integration of cutting-edge technology and ensure platform performance meets highest standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience with design of embedded data acquisition systems in manned or unmanned aircraft
• Exceptional data visualization skills, proficient in analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Simulink)
• Demonstrated expertise in high channel count mechanical measurement systems and RF telemetry for near real-time display
• Proven track record of implementing and troubleshooting grounding, bonding, and shielding solutions
• Experience with composite and exotic material installations in flight test environments
• Strong commitment to data science and actionable recommendations
