Staff AI Engineer

Apollo.io is a leading go-to-market solution for revenue teams, providing contact data and tools for sales and marketing. They are seeking a Staff AI Engineer to build and deploy advanced AI systems, including AI Assistants and agents. The role involves designing and deploying LLMs, building back-end systems, and evaluating AI performance, aiming to optimize user productivity and enhance AI capabilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on production systems
• 1.5+ years of hands-on LLM experience with GPT, Claude, Llama, or other modern LLMs
• Expert-level Python skills for production AI systems
• Strong experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures
• Deep understanding of prompting strategies, few-shot learning, chain-of-thought reasoning
• Rigorous evaluation frameworks for LLM systems
