Consultant - Hedge Fund/Family Office Controller (Fractional/Contract Role)

Arootah, a personal and professional development leader in the Investment and Financial Services industry, is seeking experienced Controllers to consult for their prestigious Hedge Fund and Family Office clients. As a consultant, you will provide expert advice and support the CFO in managing accounting and finance functions. The role offers flexible hours, remote work, and competitive hourly rates.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CPA designation or advanced degree (MBA, etc.) is a plus.
• 6+ years of prior work experience, specifically as a Controller for a Hedge Fund or Family Office.
• 4+ years of proven experience in a financial or accounting capacity with a Hedge Fund, Family Office, Investment Management firm or Big 4 accounting firm.
• Extensive experience with cash and working capital management and forecasting.
• Strong technical accounting skills, GAAP accounting, and management reporting experience.
• Strong technical skills, particularly with Microsoft applications (Word and Excel) and accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of various financial instruments, investment types, vehicle structures, asset classes, tax regulations and financial covenants.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and excellent management and supervisory skills.
