Asbury Automotive Group is seeking an Assistant General Counsel - Contracts & Transactions to provide legal advice and services in commercial contracts, real estate, environmental matters, construction issues, intellectual property, and general contracts support. The position supports the General Counsel, executive management, and department heads, and directs and manages outside counsel as required.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7+ years of legal practice focused on commercial agreements
- Superior contract drafting & negotiating skills
- Intellectual property experience preferred
- Experience in the automotive sector (or a related sector with strong manufacturer dynamics) is an asset
- In-house experience a plus, but not required
- Strong business acumen, customer/business partner focus and leadership presence
- Strong intellectual capacity and work ethic along with a high personal standard of excellence
- Enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills and process improvement focus
- Experience dealing with a wide range of legal issues
- Resourceful and results-oriented
- Experience managing outside counsel to obtain legal advice in cost effective manner
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage detail
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficiency with: Word, Excel, Legal Tracker, CSC Entity Management Database, Sharepoint
