Utilities Locator

ATHENA Consulting is seeking a Utilities Locator to locate and mark water distribution system infrastructure. The position starts at $17.00 per hour and is located in Newport News, VA.

Requirements

• Reads and interprets engineering drawings, site and utility maps to identify the location of related pipes, meter boxes, water services or structures
• Maintains equipment and supplies as needed
• Disposes of empty paint cans in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency requirements
• Ensures the safety of City equipment, private property, and others by following proper safety procedures
• Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
• Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned
• Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
• Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company
• Perform other related duties as assigned
