BAE Systems in Fort Wayne, IN is looking for a Chemical Operator III to perform tasks in controlling and monitoring of chemicals and/or hazardous waste within the company facility or manufacturing production organization in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Requirements
- Monitors chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators
- Makes chemical and equipment adjustments to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance
- Removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids
- Inspects hazardous waste production and storage units
- Maintains operational logs
- Cleans up chemical spills
- May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
- Good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactive) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions
- Hazardous waste collection and management
- Chemical breakdown and distribution
