Job Description
The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a Biomechanics Engineer to contribute to the 2026 Major League Baseball Championship season. This role involves applying biomechanics tools and metrics to develop algorithms and software for pitching, hitting, and performance, particularly for data collection, analysis, and collaboration with the Data Engineering team. The engineer will contribute to improving player development plans based on biomechanics findings.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Biomechanics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Previous experience with motion capture technology (hardware and software)
- Proficiency in mathematical techniques of 3D dynamics, inverse dynamics, inverse kinematics, and musculoskeletal modeling
- Proficiency in at least three (3) of the following: Matlab, Python, R, C, C++, Javascript, SQL
- Previous experience with scripting biomechanics data visualization reports
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to work extended hours/holidays
