Battle Ground Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join its upper school faculty in 2026-2027. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching high school science in an independent school setting, as well as prior knowledge of project-based learning and/or the design thinking process.
Requirements
- Prepare curricula, lead instruction, develop assessments, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Create syllabi for each course, develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and collaborate with other faculty members in curriculum development.
- Assess students' academic and social growth, and maintain timely, appropriate grades and reports.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction, use a variety of instructional strategies, and use technology in the classroom as an instructional tool.
- Establish a positive learning environment by maintaining standards of student behavior and rapport, identify student needs, and cooperate with grade-level teams to help students solve learning challenges.
- Communicate student progress to parents through report cards, comments, email, conferences, etc., and meet deadlines, be punctual and reliable.
