Educational American Sign Language Interpreter

Baystate Interpreters, Inc. is seeking dedicated Educational American Sign Language interpreters to join their team, providing services in education, medical, legal, and community settings. The role offers competitive per diem rates and the opportunity to expand skillset, particularly in medical and legal interpreting. Interpreters must be flexible, reliable, and understanding of cultural nuances.

Requirements

• Must be fluent AND certified in American Sign Language Interpretation
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• MUST be nationally certified with a CI, CT or NIC designation (other certifications are accepted)
• Must be proficient in English and at least one additional language
• Strong communication skills and a composed demeanor
• Flexibility and reliability to meet the demands of per diem assignments
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
• Completion of a Medical Interpreter Training Course
• Completion of a Legal Interpreter Training Course
