Product Designer, Design Systems

BetterHelp is a mental health company that provides online therapy services. We are seeking a Product Designer, Design Systems to lead the creation of our AI-compatible design system and product blueprint. The role involves building a unified design language, component library, and product structure to accelerate delivery, improve collaboration, and prepare our design system for seamless integration with AI-powered design tools.

Requirements

• 3–6 years in Product or UX/UI design, with direct experience building or maintaining a design system from zero (0→1)
• Comfortable navigating fast-moving teams and incomplete product documentation, you bring order and clarity to evolving systems
• Skilled in componentization, design tokens, auto-layout, and variables within Figma
• Comfortable partnering with front-end engineers to ensure design–dev alignment
• Experienced in creating structured documentation and scalable guidelines
• Curious and proactive about AI integration in design tools and workflows (Figma Make AI, design tokens, automation)
• Familiar with building systems that support multiple languages and regions
