Job Description
BlackSky is a real-time intelligence company specializing in space-based intelligence. They are seeking a Senior Engineer to join their Mission Planning Engineering team, responsible for developing and deploying autonomous operations for the BlackSky constellation. The role involves modeling, testing, and implementing autonomous constellation activities, including software system design and data analysis for identifying and fixing efficiency problems. Experience with orbital mechanics and spacecraft systems is valued.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or higher in an aerospace or related field
- At least six (6) years of relevant professional experience
- Familiarity with satellite first principles, attitude dynamics, and satellite systems
- Experience with project management or software product development
- Strong team and inter-team cooperation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to sustain a workload with concurrent activities
