Director, Data Architect

BNY is seeking a Director of Data Architect to join their Engineering team in Pune, India. The role involves designing, maintaining data models, developing schemas, and ensuring data governance and interoperability across various corporate functions. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience as a Data Modeler, Data Architect, or related role in the financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake, Oracle, and AWS S3.
• Familiarity with data lakes, federated data marts, and enterprise data architecture principles.
• Expertise in designing data models for Finance, Risk, HR, Compliance and Legal domains.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills (e.g., normalization, dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience working with large-scale, high-volume datasets in a regulated environment.
• Experience with metadata management and data catalog tools.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR, SOX).
• Familiarity with modern data product principles and data mesh concepts.
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven data products in a financial services context.
• Excellent communication skills.
