Wood Procurement Manager

Responsible for all log procurement and coordination with log yard management. Develop short and long-term strategies to maintain market advantages over competitors. Implement the Company’s policies, procedures, and management actions to ensure compliance with the most current Sustainable Forestry Initiative ® Standard (SFIS), third party certification, on-product label application, and Chain-of-Custody system certification requirements.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in timber/log appraisal and buying activities
• Familiarity with manufacturing economics and mill log quality needs
• Good organizational and analytical skills
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of supervisory and management techniques
• Ability to understand and administer legal contracts
• Knowledge of computer software, log accounting systems (LIMS)
• Knowledge of Best Management Practices and Environmental regulations
• Demonstrated supervisory skills
• Be a licensed registered forester
