BWS is seeking a cook to provide meals and snacks for a crew of 16-26 people working 16-hour shifts, 7 days a week. This role requires strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to manage food and galley supplies while maintaining cleanliness. The position involves cooking meals, ordering supplies, and working in challenging conditions often at sea.
Requirements
- Current State of Alaska Food Handler’s permit.
- Current Serve Safe certification.
- Previous cooking experience and/or training.
- Previous experience cooking or working at sea is preferred but not required.
- Ability to order all needed galley supplies on a trip-by-trip basis.
- Ability to provide quality meals while staying within budget limits.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the galley.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening (commercial fishing falls under federal authority).
