Job Description
Bumble Inc. is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to design and implement advanced security tools, engineer AI/ML-based detection and response systems, and lead the development of internal security platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, expertise in security automation, and a passion for innovation in cybersecurity, working within a hybrid environment.
Requirements
- Engineering-first mindset with proven experience building and scaling complex systems, platforms, or developer tooling in security.
- Expertise in designing and delivering security automation and orchestration platforms, ideally leveraging cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes).
- Deep fluency in Python, Go, or similar languages, with experience implementing pipelines, services, and APIs in production environments.
- Working knowledge or hands-on experience applying machine learning or data science techniques to cybersecurity problems.
- Strong grasp of systems internals, identity & access management, and network security fundamentals.
- Able to design systems that balance risk, usability, and operational complexity, especially in fast-moving product and engineering orgs.
- Comfortable with DevSecOps practices, SDLC integration, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, influence, and lead engineering efforts across organizational boundaries.
