The Commercial Manager is responsible for overseeing commercial origination, trading activities, and business development for a specific location within the grain commodity industry.
Requirements
- Manage grain origination and trading activities at the location.
- Execute commercial strategies to meet regional goals for volume, margin, and profitability.
- Manage facility financials, including budgeting, forecasting, new trades, etc.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and risk mitigation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of merchandisers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, emphasizing accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
- Coordinate with location Operations Manager to ensure the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of grain facilities.
- Collaborate on capacity planning, logistics, and inventory management to meet customer and market demands.
- Support the implementation of safety programs and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, producers, and industry partners.
- Negotiate contracts, develop tailored solutions, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Identify & pursue new business opportunities to expand the company's market presence/ increase market share.
