Capital Power is seeking a Senior Specialist, Environment, Health, and Safety to join their Harquahala Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HSE services to the Harquahala, Arizona facility and other US based operating units. They will ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation and regulations, and provide guidance and support with respect to day-to-day health and safety matters.
Requirements
- Act as a subject matter expert to employees, supervisors and managers
- Prepare all necessary reporting as required by applicable facility permits
- Manage data for CEMS reporting and support operations with efficiency improvement opportunities
- Coordinate and provide guidance to meet all stack testing requirements
- Support water sampling and reporting requirements
- Manage Hazardous waste and reporting
- Support all requirements associated with Spill Prevention, Control, and Counter Measure Plan (SPCC) and emergency response plans
- Provide environmental, health and safety training as required by facility operations and management teams
- Provide environmental, health and safety support for emergency response activities
- Supervise environmental, health or safety consultants as required
- Effectively manage scheduling and budget and monitor compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements, and mitigation of risks
- Liaises with local government, public, industry and aboriginal authorities when required
- Identifies emerging health and safety issues at the operational level and provides support on health and safety resolution
- Develops and maintains documentation of site-specific environmental, health and safety procedures
