Senior Database Engineer

This is a B2B opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of AWS Relational Database Services (RDS), focusing on automation, scalability, and performance optimization. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence. The team is global, based in Romania.

Requirements

• Manage the lifecycle of AWS RDS, including provisioning, monitoring, patching, and decommissioning.
• Work with AWS Aurora, RedShift, PostgreSQL, and Oracle to support business-critical applications.
• Lead database migration projects and implement authorization management using IAM tools.
• Analyze and optimize execution plans and queries to improve performance and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Crossplane.
• Design, configure, and manage CI/CD pipelines for database and infrastructure deployments.
• Set up and maintain monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, and integrate alerts with Microsoft Teams.
• Manage logging infrastructure using ELK Stack and AWS CloudWatch.
• Oversee backend storage management, ensuring scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement long-term fixes.
• Create and maintain handbooks, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Support incident resolution and assist teams in epic creation and problem-solving.
