Job Description
The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark seeks a Catholic Charities Tutor to provide individualized and group academic support to Refugee students after school hours. This role focuses on homework help, lesson planning, and reinforcement of core academic skills. The tutor will assist students in understanding and mastering concepts, as well as monitor progress and communicate with parents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, English, mathematics, science, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole
- Previous experience in a non-profit or government setting with refugee populations
- Ability to maintain records and adjust teaching methods
