Job Description
The Head Start Teacher Assistant provides high-quality early learning support for school readiness, demonstrating competence in providing responsive caregiving and nurturing interactions. Responsibilities include supervising children's safety and well-being, implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, and ensuring adherence to Head Start standards. The role requires a positive and nurturing classroom environment for children with disabilities and dual language learners.
Requirements
- At a minimum, a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate or baccalaureate degree or are enrolled in a CDA credential program
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum of 24 months of classroom teaching experience in a Texas Child Care Licensed Center
- Minimum of 2-4 years of classroom teaching experience in a Texas Child Care Licensed Center
- Pass pre-employment and/or periodic physical examination, TB skin test, and complete background check every 24 months
