Job Description
This is a full-time position for an Assistant Engineer at Bayonne, NJ, responsible for maintaining vessel engine room, maintaining vessel power, and performing start-up and shutdown operations. This role involves physical work, heavy lifting, and working in close proximity with a team, including hauling lines and vessels. They perform cleaning, fuel distribution, general maintenance, and safety observations.
Requirements
- Two years previous work experience on marine diesels.
- Ability to comprehend and respond to orders from the Captain or Mate.
- Minimum of direction with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of cargo information and material safety data sheets.
- Ability to operate all firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
