Job Description
The License Engineer is responsible for maintaining the vessel's engine room and equipment, performing start-up and shutdown procedures, troubleshooting, and heavy maintenance. The role involves pulling heavy lines and hoses, working on oil and cargo barges, general vessel maintenance, and other tasks as required by the Captain. This is a regular full-time position within a maintenance-focused vessel environment.
Requirements
- Preventive maintenance and upkeep of engine room equipment
- Troubleshooting and repair of vessel power and propulsion systems
- Heavy lines, hose, and tank handling
- Ability to work on oil and cargo barges
- Valid licenses, including a Chief unlimited license and DEK-USCG license
- Ability to perform a Minimum of five (5) years of Chief Engineer experience
- Knowledge of safety awareness, injury prevention and firefighting
- Valid TWIC
- First aid certificate
- CPR certification
- HazWOPER training within 30 days of hire
- Valid TWIC
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
