Job Description
As a Seasonal Park Gardener, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping Champaign's parks vibrant and welcoming by supporting the installation, care, and upkeep of flower beds and landscaped areas throughout the growing season.
Requirements
- Assist with planting annuals, perennials, and other landscape materials
- Maintain flower beds and landscaped areas through weeding, watering, mulching, and trimming
- Operate Park District vehicles, power equipment, and hand tools safely and effectively
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Complete basic written job records and communicate progress or issues to supervisors
- Perform physically demanding outdoor work, including lifting up to 70 lbs. with assistance as needed
- Interact with coworkers and the public in a positive, professional manner
- Follow all safety policies and Park District procedures
- Other duties as assigned
