Responsible for operating heavy equipment and vehicles in the maintenance, overlay and repair of both streets and alleys.
Requirements
- Operate top and sides of the asphalt paving machine.
- Transport materials between job sites
- Address citizen concerns on the job site while in occurrence.
- Maintain the functionality, appearance and safety of the work area or facilities in compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Inspect the overall safety of various job projects.
- Maintain safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment.
- Ensure all safety equipment is being utilized on a daily basis.
- Perform pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.
- Keep work location and vehicle in order.
- Inspect and maintain assigned equipment.
- Identify equipment needs for each assigned project.
- Operate heavy equipment in clearing of streets and/or alleys during inclement weather incidents.
- Operate/ train on specialized pieces of heavy equipment in the absence of Heavy Equipment Crew Leader.
