Job Description
The Plant Operator I position at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Hammond, Louisiana involves skilled and unskilled job tasks related to plant operation. The role requires close supervision and adheres to established procedures, with an emphasis on record keeping, maintenance, and ensuring safe plant operations. It includes repair of equipment, sampling, and may involve other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Maintain daily records on plant operations
- Take wastewater sample collections
- Perform maintenance on equipment
- Repair broken lines or pipes in plant operations
- Repair/replace/change zones on discharge pipes in swamp
- Cut grass & weed eating at given location
- Work with contractors
- Assist with sanitary survey
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned
- Be on call for plant operations
- Work on weekends/holidays
