The Utilities Mechanic position is a 3-tier level, Career Ladder position. The Utilities Mechanic is responsible for skilled mechanical work in the installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of municipal wastewater equipment and infrastructure.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Class 'B' CDL with Tanker endorsement (CDL)
- One (1) year in a Mechanical related field or position
- Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) training
- Stormwater Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector Training Program
- Disaster Preparedness / Response Plan Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Training Incident Command System (ICS) 100
- Confined Space Training
- Trench Safety/ Competent Person Training
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) / First Aid Training
- Lock-out/tag-out certification
- Fork Lift / Aerial Lift Certified
- Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) Wastewater Collections 'C' Certification
- Completion of 40 hour class that covers 14 Principles of Precision Maintenance
- Valid Driver's License
