Licensed Electrician

The Transit Facilities Maintenance Unit is responsible for the property management functions associated with the maintenance, operation and repair of all transit facilities. The job involves installation, testing, trouble-shooting, maintenance and preventive maintenance duties, and repairing a variety of electrical equipment, distribution systems, and electrical fixtures and devices.

Requirements

• Completion of Industrial Electrician apprenticeship program of 9000 hours
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of a variety of electronic equipment, systems and controls, following acquisition of Journeyperson’s certificate
• Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Electrician-Construction and Maintenance 309A or Industrial Electrician 442A
• Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
• Must obtain Ontario unrestricted AZ or DZ class driver’s licence (or provincial equivalent) within the timeframe determined by the employer
