The Control System Engineer will be responsible for delivering, maintaining, and upgrading control systems to meet production requirements, leading the migration and lifecycle system process, and ensuring system functionality and safety.
Requirements
- Manage all control systems in a specific area
- Responsible for oversight of control system critical spare parts
- Responsible for lifecycle status and develop diagnosis concept and periodic health check of installed base control systems
- Develop and maintain long-term control system migration plans for their assigned plant with the Production and Maintenance
- Responsible for tracking total cost of ownership for control systems
- Assigns and keeps record of all I/O points in the area
- Act as SIS Responsible Engineer including maintaining all required documentation for SIS system
- Provides expert support for the control systems remotely for other sites as needed
- Perform advanced control and graphic configuration on systems in an assigned area that is beyond the capabilities of the technicians and specialists
- Understanding specific requirements and control systems, and in addition provides technical expertise for other systems and communications protocols used onsite
- Lead and/or coordinate root cause failure analysis on significant failures
- Implement Corrective Actions for control system issues
- Maintains the master plan on assigned areas control systems (DCS, PLC and SIS)
- Ensure all systems are following corporate standards
- Maintain all logic documentation for the production area for both instrument technicians and production technicians
- Develops and ensures maintenance of a database of key advanced process control installations in their area and helps ensure their functionality
- Develop, implement, document and maintain manuals for every system in the production areas
- Responsible for the standardization and Quality of all configurations
- Organizes and coordinates technology and best practice sharing exchanges between control systems vendors, production and their support functions
- Supports Capital projects in area requiring interface to control systems
- Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance is completed on all control systems in assigned area
- Ensure development and maintenance of WIM functional locations, bills of materials and preventive maintenance
- Ensure mechanical integrity programs are in place and implemented, including inspection/testing and preventive/predictive maintenance programs
- Ensure automation roadmap (spare parts, service agreements, obsolescence, etc.) and automation security programs (DCS, SIS, remote access, etc.) are in place
- Ensure development, maintenance and availability of equipment files and up to date drawings, including P&IDs, loop drawings, etc.
- Implementation of plant monitoring, DCS interlock, safety instrumented systems and alarm management programs
