The Patient Care Technician provides direct, non-invasive bedside care to patients, prioritizing and delivering basic patient care and reporting any changes observed in patient condition or behavior.

Requirements

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including bathing, toileting, feeding, grooming, etc.
• Perform and document vital signs, measures and records intake and output, weights, specimen collections, etc.
• Transfers patients utilizing proper body mechanics and safe patient handling techniques.
• Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient to appropriate nursing personnel.
• Maintains bed and room in a clean, neat, safe, and comfortable manner.
• Promptly and appropriately responds to patient and family calls and requests.
• Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule.
