Paramedics provide emergency treatment, including advanced life support, to patients in emergencies. The Paramedic's role is to assess the urgent medical needs of patients and stabilize their conditions.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic training program
- Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP) in Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Amercian Red Cross
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of start date in the Emergency Department
- Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic training program
