Senior Underwriter, Commercial Mid-Market

We are seeking a Senior Underwriter, Commercial Mid-Market to join our team at CNA. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing applications and financial requirements for complex underwriting skills, determining acceptability of risk, and preparing quotes and answers to questions from brokers and policyholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Typically a minimum five years underwriting experience
• Professional designations preferred
• Advanced knowledge of underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and to make critical business decisions effectively
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software
• Demonstrated leadership skills
