Join Colorado School of Mines in launching a new STEM education initiative in Guam, as part of a larger consortium with ASTROAmerica, the Government of Guam, University of Guam, and Guam Community College. This is a hybrid position with on-campus presence required, work hours may be outside of normal business hours due to time difference between Golden and Guam, and some travel is required.
Requirements
- Collaborate and work closely with Mines Accreditation Office, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs to collect, organize, and assemble all data and requirements for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Accreditation application.
- Prepare and submit the HLC accreditation application.
- Ensure the timely and complete submission of annual and mid-term reports and substantive change requests to the Commission.
- Work with the site visit team chair, assistant chair, and Commission staff to develop the visit schedule and in other ways ensure that the peer review experience is well organized and can achieve its intended purposes.
- Organize course offerings, student experiences, and campus developments each semester as completed at the Mines Guam campus.
- Assist Mechanical Engineering department with ABET accreditation and documentation as needed.
- Continued collection and diligent organization of materials every year for Mines HLC and ABET accreditation reviews.
- Serve as a liaison between the Golden, Colorado, and Guam campuses, ensuring seamless coordination and communication for student, faculty, and administration.
- Bridge student support services from Guam and Golden campus and ensuring communication between campuses are seamless.
- Manage program logistics, such as scheduling, resources, and curriculum alignment in collaboration with team members on both campuses.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the student experience and support program growth.
- Establish and formalize policies and procedures that will be integrated into the practices at the Mines Guam campus focused on best practices for future initiatives.
- Work closely with Internal Research to incorporate and maintain the alternative location data into reporting templates and develop reports specific to programs offered at Mines Guam.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners in Guam, UOG, GCC, AstroAmerica, the US Navy, and others, to ensure long term success of the program.
- Collaborate and coordinate, as appropriate, with other college leaders at University of Guam (UOG), Guam Community College (GCC), and Mines who are responsible for any programmatic accreditation held by the institution in order to share achievement data, coordinate campus visits, identify common issues, and address the allocation of resources.
- Work closely with Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and individuals focused on student success initiatives and policy management other personnel for consistent and up-to-date information on policies and student services that are offered at UOG and GCC as this may impact any changes in Mines policies and services at Mines Golden and Mines Guam.
- Attend meetings related to HLC and ABET accreditation and engage in training, provide feedback for the development of policies and review procedures, and share good practices with others.
- Attend Mechanical Engineering department and curriculum meetings, as necessary, and keep Mines Guam campus well updated to departmental changes and updates.
- Act as a liaison with Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Advising (CASA), Career Center, Student Life, and others to be up to date on all of Mines evolving policies and procedures to ensure policy and Mines culture are well represented on Mines Guam campus.
- Create and distribute yearly progress report on the development of the campus to include status reports, enrollments, and application numbers.
- Make travel arrangements for the project team and completes all necessary reports and/or utilizing MAPS when appropriate.
- Make sure all expense reports are processed in a timely and accurate manner and ensure that expenses are allocated to the correct accounts.
- Schedule hotel reservations, business meetings, catering, and travel accommodations for visitors for GAMMA visit.
- Support Project Manager and Start Up Director on miscellaneous tasks related to the development of programming for GAMMA and Mines OGIB Office.
- Track, balance, and report the GAMMA Project account, totaling between $8-10 Million in expenditures across campus.
- Track expenditures of salary, equipment, travel, and fees; assign and reallocate charges.
- Provides guidance to GAMMA Mines team for travel authorization and other functions related to charging expenses to the GAMMA project.
